Creating a New Outdoor Living Space

This recent back garden patio installation in Tramore shows how the right landscaping changes the way you use your garden. The homeowners wanted to make better use of their back garden by creating a spacious, practical outdoor area where they could relax, enjoy outdoor dining, and spend more time outside with family and friends. The existing garden had plenty of potential, but there was no dedicated patio area close to the house. We designed and installed a large multi size tile patio that creates a comfortable outdoor space while blending naturally with the property.

A Full-Width Patio Designed Around the Home

Rather than creating a small seating area, we installed a full-width back garden patio running across the rear of the house. This gives easy access from both the back door and patio doors, making the garden feel like a natural extension of the indoor living space. The new patio is ideal for enjoying a morning coffee, relaxing in the evening, having a barbecue, or entertaining family and friends during the warmer months. The multi-size natural sandstone paving slabs were chosen to give the patio a more natural and attractive appearance. Using different slab sizes creates a softer, more interesting pattern than standard paving, adding texture and character to the garden.

A quality patio installation starts with good preparation.

Before laying the paving slabs, the area was carefully excavated and a suitable sub-base was installed to provide strength, stability, and proper drainage. Taking time with the groundwork helps prevent problems such as movement, uneven paving, and water pooling in the future. Each paving slab was then carefully positioned and levelled to achieve a neat, professional finish with consistent joints throughout the patio area.

Durable, Low-maintainance and Attractive Garden Feature

As well as improving the appearance of the garden, this new patio makes the outdoor space much easier to maintain. The homeowners now have a durable, low-maintenance area close to the house, while still keeping a lawn area for greenery and planting. The patio provides the perfect space for garden furniture, outdoor dining, and enjoying the garden throughout the year.
